Using Llachon as a base we will hike and sea-kayak hugging the shore-line of the northeastern part of the lake. To top it off we will spend a couple of hours sailing on the lake and then visiting famed Taquile Island. A unique multisport itinerary on the highest navigable lake in the world.

DAY BY DAY DESCRIPTION

Day 1 LLACHON
On arrival in Llachon by way of road transport or boat (on your own or you can request a pick-up at Puno or Juliaca) settle into your rural lodge. In the afternoon we will take a short hike into the village and become familiar with our surroundings. We will also receive a short briefing on next day’s sea kayaking trip getting all our equipment ready. Overnight and dinner.

Day 2 LLACHON / TIKONATA
Leaving early from our beach by sea-kayak we will start the day hugging the shoreline along the Capa Chica Peninsula until we reach the point. Continuing along the shore we then cross the bay of Cotos, round the second point and continue along the shore until reaching the island of Tikonata. Along the way we will stop for a snack at a beach or using our support boat as a base. At the island we disembark and stay at a local rural lodge, with a chance to hike around the island and its beautiful ambiance after lunch. Tikonata is uninhabited mostly, only at a certain time of year, do people come to harvest from across the bay. Overnight at a rural lodge. (Sea kayaking: 4 hours).

Day 3 TIKONATA / CHIFRON / LLACHON
Loading our sea-kayaks and support equipment onto our support boat we head to the mainland dock at Chifron, a sandy bay with a nice beach. Here our vehicle will wait for us and take us back to Llachon where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will undertake a hike to a marvelous lookout with views dominating the Capachica peninsula and Lake Titicaca. Overnight at our lodge.

Day 4 LLACHON / TAQUILE / PUNO
Today we get on a local sailboat for the first leg of the journey, until reaching the top of the Peninsula of Capa Chica. Here we transfer to a motor-boat and continue to Taquile, where we arrive before the crowds. We hike up the island before most tourists arrive, visit the main square and do a hike to the southern trip of the island. Here we get picked up and return to Puno by boat. Transfer to hotel of your choice.
