| DAY BY DAY DESCRIPTION Day 1 LLACHON / TAQUILE Leaving early either from Puno, or Juliaca we enter the road to Llachon at Illpa, passing the villages of Huata and Coata. Here we continue along the peninsula of Capa Chica, arriving at the main village of the same name. The road follows the lake shore at this point and we pass two communities until we reach the village of Llachon, our embarkation point. After a briefing we receive the appropriate safety equipment and embark on our three to four hour sea-kayak adventure. Paddling first along the coast of the peninsula we leave the point after an hour and cross the lake towards the island of Taquile. On arrival we disembark, store our kayaks on shore and spend the rest of the day after lunch exploring the island, overnight at a rural lodge overlooking the lake with beautiful views of the Cordillera Real.(There is also an option to return to Llachon and spend the night there) Day 2 TAQUILE/ LLACHON We proceed to explore the coastline of the island by kayak and then head across the open water again returning to our starting point. Hopefully with the prevailing wind behind us we will complete this leg of the journey faster. On arrival, lunch at Llachon before returning to the mainland from the peninsula(transportation not included, option by vehicle or by car, both cost about $ 85) SERVICES INCLUDED: Sea-kayaks, paddles, life jackets and safety equipment including a support boat.
